Volunteer: Electrical Department

Who We Are:

The Electrical Department is responsible for maintenance and new installations of electrical system on the train and around Brightside Yard, Sunol Depot, and Niles Station including the parking lot lights. 

What We Do:

This can include power generator, service entrance, branch circuits, and portable power circuit around the yard for supplying power to do work on the train cars.  Also we are responsible for making sure that the lights stay on during the Train of Lights.  We also maintain the DC system on the train.

What Skill Sets Are Required:

• Installing wire, sometime we install conduct, troubleshoot circuits when necessary.
• Bend conduit, cut and thread conduit.

When We Work:

Wednesdays and Saturdays are the primary work days.  This can extend into more days if a big project is happening in which we set a dead line goal for ourselves.
